Unlink or change computers
Your firm links one computer to Taxably at a time. Unlink the old one and link the new one; nothing is deleted from either.

Linking a computer to your firm is what turns reading on there. Taxably links one computer per firm, so moving to a new computer is two steps: unlink the old one, then link the new one.
Unlink this computer
- In Taxably Connect, open Settings, then Your Taxably account.
- Press Unlink this computer.
- Taxably asks first. Read what it says and press Unlink this computer again, or Keep it linked to change your mind.
Your account is told the link is over, and Taxably stops reading documents on that computer until it is linked again. Nothing is deleted: your documents, your delivered prep sheets and everything Taxably has read stay where they are.
Unlink from your account instead
If the old computer is gone or will not start, sign in at app.taxably.ai, open Computers under your firm, and unlink it there.
Link the new computer
Install Taxably Connect on the new computer and sign in. See Install Taxably Connect and link this computer. If your firm still has a computer linked, Taxably says so and tells you where to unlink it.
Keep billing in step
Taxably knows a client by their folder. Connect the same client folders on the new computer, and leave each client's Taxably Prep folder where it is: it records which tax years were already charged, so building them again is not charged twice. Linking the new computer does not move the records Taxably kept on the old one.
